I will be knocking on your door soon - Santa is almost here

I will be knocking on your door soon

Santa is nearly ready to arrive

Christmas is coming! The smell of aromatic gingerbread all around the house, the tree decorated with colourful flickering lights, frosty weather, a smiling snowman peeping through the window, family members humming Christmas carols, delicious dishes cooking in the oven. It all brings up the feeling that Christmas is on its way. Adults are looking forward to the family meeting, sharing the Christmas dinner, wishing each other all the best for the holidays and to seeing smiles on the faces of the children as they open their presents. The little ones are most impatiently awaiting me, Santa Claus.

Before Christmas send a letter to Santa!

It really won’t be long now till Christmas arrives, so I would like to tell you, my dear children, that very soon I will be knocking on your door.  I have noticed that very often (especially in the case of the youngest children) even though they can’t wait for me to come, when I reach their house, they are a little scared of me. For that reason, instead of coming to the Christmas dinner and handing out the gifts myself, I sneak into your houses at night and leave the gifts under the Christmas tree. However, before Christmas comes and before I knock at your door, I need you to do something for me. At the moment, I am reading hundreds of letters to Santa Claus that the Lapland postman keeps bringing to my workshop. They are colourful and very interesting, I am really enjoying reading them, because many children send me hugs and kisses through their letters. I prepare very long lists, think about what gifts every child should get and ask my precious helpers, the elves, to work on those presents. Mrs Santa is helping me with everything ( by the way, it’s her who also prepares me some refreshments for the very long night before Christmas, when I travel the whole wide world to be able to knock at the door of every well-behaved child).

I know, my dear children, that you are waiting for me very impatiently, but please be good and help your mum with holiday cleaning and preparations, and then Christmas will come very quickly (before you know it) and a grey-haired man with a long beard, in a red outfit, with a big smile on his face, and, of course, with a big sack bursting with presents, will park his sleigh drawn by reindeer at your very house. Please remember that when I arrive at your home, I would like to be greeted in a nice way – because I try my best to travel the world far and wide on that special night.
