Information about cookies

What are "cookies" (also known as "cookie files")?

"Cookies" are data stored on end users' devices with the intent to improve the functionality of websites. The data enables the user's device to be recognised and the website to be correctly displayed and adjusted to the user's individual preferences. "Cookies" usually contain the name of the website they originate from, the time of storage on the device and the unique reference number of the device.

What are "cookies" used for?

"Cookies" are used in order to adjust the contents of websites to the user's preferences and to optimise the use of the website. They are also used to create animated, aggregated statistics which help us understand how the user is using the websites, to facilitate improvements in the website's structure and contents, excluding personal identification of the user.

What "cookie" files are used?

Two types of "cookies" are used - "session" and "persistent" ones. The first of them are temporary files which remain on the user's device until they log out from the website or switch off the software (close the browser). The "persistent" files remain on the user's device for a time period specified in the parameters of the "cookies" or until they are manually removed by the user. The "cookie" files used by the partners of the administrator of the website, in particular by the users of the website, are subject to their own privacy policy.

Do "cookies" contain personal data?

Personal data gathered by "cookies" may be collected only for the purpose of executing specific functions for the user. The data is scripted in a way which protects it from unauthorised access of third parties.

Removal of "cookies"

By default, software used to browse Internet websites enables "cookie" files to be stored on the end device. The setting may be changed to disable automatic "cookie" support by using browser settings, or to receive alerts each time cookies are downloaded onto the user's device. Detailed information on the available options and settings related to "cookie" support can be found in the software settings (Internet browser settings). Limiting "cookie" support may affect some functionality of the website.
