The Lapland postman encounters a major challenge each year. He has to bring huge sacks filled with letters from children (and not only children) from all over the world to Santa’s workshop (my workshop). I must admit that I am very proud that so many people remember about me. It doesn’t bother me a bit that the reason for this are the gifts that I bring them later, because in many letters they send their love and hugs to me and Mrs Santa, and also to my little helpers – the elves and the reindeer.

Letter to Santa Claus

While reading all those Santa letters, of course I always wonder if Chris or Mary (and all theother children) have been good enough this year so that I can bring them the gifts they are asking for so kindly (with a clear conscience with respect to their parents). When writing letters to Santa, of course you tell me that you have been good, but later you may wonder if you are indeed on my Nice List and if a beautiful present is definitely coming your way. Don’t worry about a thing, I won’t be unfair towards anybody – I do want every child to be happy on Christmas morning.

But please remember to help out your parents not only with holiday cleaning and preparations, but the whole year round. That’s because if you are helpful and nice, I’ll be sure to knock on your door. I notice children who behave well at school and who are nice to their friends – be helpful, polite and work hard, and you can be sure that you will find a wonderful Christmas present under your tree. Please know that I do not try to trim the Nice List to give as few gifts as possible; on the contrary, I do everything I can to ensure that as many children as possible can receive presents. But I do want you to deserve to get a gift. So please try as hard as you can, and my elves will do their best to prepare a wonderful gift that will bring you lots of joy. Don’t spen too much time wondering about being on my Nice List, just do everything you can to make it on the list and you can be sure that beautiful gifts will appear under your Christmas tree on the night before Christmas.
